Boutique, unique, micro-batch tequilas
Our mission is to help the tequila industry win back consumers who wish to have more transparency and a no BS, unique culinary experience.

About Us
The founders and equal share owners of Mano de Obra are Adam Fodor and Sergio Cruz. They are both “locos” dreaming up new, creative ways to make great tasting, unique tequilas. Adam is the theory guy, while Sergio is the practice. Sergio is the master distiller of Casa Tequilera Viva Mexico, a legendary tequila producer house, Adam is the president of the International Tequila Academy.
Our Rules
- We only publish tequilas of 45% or higher alcohol content (abv).
- We use less efficient, more manual processes based on our own unique, copyright protected recipes.
- We use smaller bottles – it helps moderate consumption and the aeration issue.
- We only sell in Mexico – we use alliances with other brands for exportation
- We provide absolute transparency, the full recipe on how our tequilas are made.
- No BS – no BS marketing language or incredible packaging – just the facts.
- We focus on taste – we ensure that Mano de Obra drinkers get the best experience with every single bottle of our tequila.
Our Mission
Our mission is to set much higher standards for “craft” or “authentic” tequilas that can live up to the high standards of sophisticated wine and spirits drinkers. We aim to win back mezcal drinkers to drink tequila again – their palates have evolved to appreciate finer, more complex flavors and aromas.
A curious fact: our logo is the scanned hand of co-founder and master distiller Sergio Cruz. It is a tribute to our appreciation of manual labor over computerized machines. We believe the industry needs those machines to grow just as much as a project like us – we want to show the industry that it is entirely possible to remain “micro” and still be successful.
What we do
We create new unique recipes that is usually only feasible if producing in small quantities. Then we make test batches to see an select the best ones for production. Then we produce batches of them for the Mexican market and we team up with bigger brands who help us distribute such small amounts in the US and worldwide.
